As it stands now, 2019 Mazda BT-50 the new generation is ready for the market. Like the first generation, after six years, the second generation of this model will finish. Nevertheless, this time it remains in the mid-size pickup truck. It will be developed in cooperation with Isuzu Motors Ltd, installed on the same platform as the 2019 Isuzu D-Max. Previous models had a lot of similarities with the Ford Ranger. Accordingly, significant changes will be made to the engine’s offer. Also, external and internal elements will suffer a lot of minor corrections. Unfortunately, the production model will only just be presented in some of the autumn fairs of cars, so we expect sales in early 2019. Of course, the competition is unchanged: Ford Ranger, Toyota Hilux, Chevrolet Colorado, Volkswagen Amarok, Nissan Navara…
Noticeable is a wide mesh grille with chrome frame, massive body-color bumpers and LED lights. In the cabin they’re quality fabric or leather seats, manual or automatic climate control, 6-inch or 7.8-inch touch screen.
Of course, there will be a lot of corrections in the external and internal dimensions. First of all, we expect a higher wheelbase and more space for passengers in the cabin. Still offers two cab sizes (two or four doors), and probably the same five trim levels. It is possible to accommodate four or five passengers. It is not known whether it will offer a Utility variant with two doors, and a significantly larger load compartment. Although it is certain that the weight will be smaller, the traction characteristics will be better. In addition to the current ones, it may also offer larger wheels.
So far, mentioned are one petrol and one diesel engine. The first will probably be a 2.5-liter four-cylinder SkyActiv engine, with 184 hp and 185 lb-ft (251 Nm) of torque. The second is a 3.0-liter six-cylinder Bluepower turbo-diesel engine of 174 hp and 280 lb-ft (380 Nm) of torque. Of course, the standard drive is on the rear wheels, with optional four-wheel drive. Only 6-speed automatic transmission is currently up-to-date. Reducing weight and a new gearbox will likely significantly reduce fuel consumption.
No doubt, the 2019 Mazda BT-50 the new generation will be more expensive than the current models. However, we do not expect a higher price hike. All in all, the basic model with a petrol engine will cost about $ 30,000.
